Medicine Lake in black and white.  The big guy's favorite place in the world.

I've been feeling blue, or more accurately grey.  I called a girlfriend last night and we had a good laugh about kids and family and shit (actual shit).  It was good.

I need to pull my head out of my ass.

Things I'm thankful for.

The big guy.
Hugs.
Friends.
Laughter.
A job that I love, most days, ok, patients that I love.
A roof over my head.
Financial security.
Walks while it's snowing.
Miss Katie is doing well.  She's happy and relaxed.
That spring will come and the world will be green again.
That the days are ever so slowly getting longer.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. I am thankful for you and that amazing photograph. Ansel Adams has nothing on you! I hope the blues lift tomorrow, friend.

    1. I exercised this morning and that helped because right now it's -25C with the wind chill. And thank you.

  2. Hello Lilycedar
I have read your blog and don’t understand there is no statement of ...I am a strong courageous caring luckey loved talented photographer...superb and I mean superb nurse who makes a huge difference in the lives of patients and families...a deeply loving mum...and I can’t begin to talk about your big guy and love love love
I think your current blog should be made into a movie
I am stunned -aside from big guy-people do not recognize you for who and what you are.
You are a big person doing big and important things

  4. That B&W Image is sublime! My Brother is a Professional Photographer and he always said B&W was his very favorite form of Photography, it captures imagery in such a different way than Color. I'm Thankful for so many things that the list would be very long. Friends like the one you shared shit with are Priceless aren't they?! Being able to enjoy some Gallow's Humor about Life's shit is indeed Medicine for the Soul! Happy New Year!

    1. Gallow's humor is a necessity in life I think. My girlfriend has cancer and it's been a tough two years for her.
